After Image is my ongoing project in which I create image-objects from digital images. As source material, I use my own photography or, in specific sub-projects, found images—photographs from digital archives or satellite imagery. I apply custom algorithms to reconstruct the image, including pixel sorting, which fundamentally alters its structure. Then I translate it into a sculptural form using fabric, cotton, and resin.

This work is a response to the fractured nature of the present. It reflects simultaneity—the coexistence of seemingly opposite states, the layering of information flows, an overspeed flux. The representation here is at once familiar and unfamiliar, and layered process makes the object pass through multiple transitions, retaining traces of each. The result speaks to a present defined by instability: layered, ambiguous, constantly shifting.

Alex See combines photography, computational processes, and sculptural materiality, reflecting on representation in the post-digital age. In recent years has developed a series of hybrid objects using printed fabric, fibrefill, and resin, positioned between image and artifact. Studied at the University of Hertfordshire, UK (2011–2014), and at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Moscow (2019–2021). Currently based in Berlin.
