Frequencies is a photographic project that explores the deep need for intimacy and the challenge of reconnecting with others after a long period of forced separation.

By its very nature, adolescence is a time of discovery when bodies can meet and relate. It’s the time when one first approaches the complex dynamics of affection, closeness and physical contact with awareness. Beginning in 2020 and for the following three years this exploration was put on hold by an isolation that separated the entire community and prevented the young people from fully experiencing that phase of growth that is as natural as it is necessary.

The images that make up this visual story testify to the rediscovery and relentless search for affection and contact after a long period marked by distance. The body, which has become a map of unexpressed desires, finds full freedom of expression in discotheques, which have always been symbols of escapism and freedom.

In an era that has tested our need for closeness, these snapshots are meant to be a symbol of rebirth, not just physical, but also emotional, social and cultural.
