Casa non casa explores the lives of students living away from their hometowns, boys and girls who have travelled far from their home to study, pursuing their dream. Through intimate, evocative portraits and images of details of the flat where they spend most of their time, the project captures the nuances of solitude and the everyday challenges they face. Each photograph is a reflection of the conflicting emotions associated with living far away from home, offering an insight into the concept of personal growth.

PHROOM // Fabiana Scalise

Fabiana Scalise (born 2004) is based in Turin. After graduating from a language high school, she decided to pursue her passion for visual arts by enrolling in the photography program at IED.
For her, photography has always been a powerful means of communication — a language that allows her to tell stories, express emotions, and build genuine connections with the people she photographs.

Her artistic journey is still evolving. She moves freely between different genres, experimenting with a range of styles and techniques. In recent years, she has developed a strong interest in both reportage and fashion photography — two areas where she is able to combine visual storytelling, aesthetics, and human connection.
For Fabiana, creating a dialogue with her subjects is essential: engaging with their world enables her to capture images that feel honest and meaningful.

She is currently participating in two group exhibitions in collaboration with IED: a photography show at Galleria Subalpina in Turin and a video installation at Circolo del Design, also in Turin.
Her work is driven by a desire to observe, to listen, and to reflect what she sees through a personal and authentic perspective.
