OSTROV

OSTROV was born in 1989 in Paris, France. She is both french and ukrainian.
She graduated in fine arts from L’Ecole des Beaux Arts in Bordeaux and the Sorbonne University in Paris, where her major was painting and performance. She has no fixed home and has always been traveling for the past 6 years. She has lived in the United States, in Mexico, in Iceland, in Russia, in Japan, in Cyprus and she’s currently in Bilbao, Spain.

Her self-published artist book is into the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art New York, the MoMA and into the Franklin Furnace Archives of Brooklyn.

“I remain silent about the meaning of my work. I mainly shoot the violence that has affected me at some point in my life. The viewer is completely free to interpret or see whatever he wants to see being my pictures.

I mostly shoot 35mm film.”
