A series of pictures is taken in a long-term period with a broken instant camera. The device, that’s intentionally used despite its illnes, establishes an intimate, unpredictable dialogue with its owner, suggesting a new glimpse whereby investigate reality through its technological unconscious.
The passive listening state of the beginning gradually moves into a slow appropriation of the failure, and with a more controlled dialogue with the instrument, some questions about language limits are raised.
Silvia Bandera 1996. Her research maves on a sense of listening and observation of things, often drived by a nearly voyeuristic and curious glance. She’s intrested in using silent devices (unknown people, animals, objects) with which is impossible to establish a speech, but, if thoroughly investigated over their gaze, are able to move issues related to body, memory and identity.
